My "Ska" Bassings...
Was feeling nostalgic and found some old recordings of the ska band I played with. Not in all the pics/vid footage (there are some fat Jer shots with glasses an VERY few tattoos) but this is all stuff I wrote/tracked. Most fun I have ever had in a band, We toured like crazy and played with literally EVERY big punk and ska band that was signed at the time.
And yes... picks bro

Man it was awesome! Met so many cool people, stayed in some REALLY interesting places too. We made an f-ton of cash on march. We'd make like $100 for the gig and $650 on shirts and cd's.

Yes they do! One of the only genres of music where the bass player has as much "fan pull" as the guitar player or singer!

Some great stuff there
I'm sure you know 2-tone was from my city Coventry. early 80's most folk around here were wearing tonics and pork pie hats (not me, I was into punk), I have jammed with a few dude's from the specials and the selecter though.

No shit? That's rad!
We played with The Specials when they came to Orlando back in 1996. Just found some pics someone posted from that gig.

Wow, that's Awesome!
Some cool pics there, looks like your singer really got into it. Roddy (specials guitarist) lived about 300 yards from our house, I spent many a stoned afternoon around there.

Thanks man! I actually enjoy playing bass (don't tell Mike...) but it was really hard to be in a band as a bassist when I was a much better guitar player than the guitar player. Tried convincing him a few times to just be a singer because he was a GREAT frontman. He was not having it.

Yeah man, you bet. It was a ton of fun. It was awesome to roll into town with no plans but to sleep in the van if need be. We'd ask on stage fora place to crash and end up with beds to sleep on, people cooking us food, doing our laundry, sending us of with food and stuff for the trip. Met some incredible cool folks.
