This kind of creeped me out when I watched it earlier this week  It's cool tech but still :zomby:

I am curious how much prep work needs done on the live musican's part to get this to go off without a hitch. All the smack Dio and Vivian Campbell talked I guess prevented them from having a holographic reunion :(

Tupac too :zomby:

I was actually listening to NWA last weekend and thinking that they always talk of reunions and end up recruiting Snoop when they should just get the Eazy E hologram rolling and rake in the cash

It's all about the benjamins.

But rap is easy to do something like this too. Mother fuckers could sync an ipod to that shit grab mics and you have a show. but a rock concert is a bit different. probably not all that much different when you're dealing with really tight professional musicians.

Give it another 10 years and this technology will be so good that the holograms will be virtually indistinguishable from real people on stage. Then we will see full holographic shows... you walk into a venue with an empty stage and just the p.a. and bam! full band materializes right in front of you, live. It's going to happen.

Always thought it'd be cool to "phone it in" - another tech generation or two, we'll have latency down to the point where band members can have a "virtual rehearsal / performance" from different places in the world.

One of the forum Mods on Harmony Central did exactly that with his band in Second Life. He said they logged in from their various locations and played live in-game together for whatever spectators were in the online venue.

The only other old guy who could still bring it like Dio that comes to mind is Klaus Meine from the Scorpions. I caught that farewell tour, and he still sounded like he did in 1984.

I saw Dio back in 01' on the Masters of the Moon tour here in Austin at the Back Room. People laugh at me when i say this but it's still the best concert I've ever seen. The Back Room is a very small place to see Dio in my opinion but at that time he hadn't had the resurgence yet that he had when Sabbath reformed with him and they did the Heaven an Hell tour/band thing. He was on point all night and the band he had was out of this world . Dio was in my opinion one of the greatest singers of all time regardless of genre. The shit he did with Rainbow still kicks ass as do his first few solo records. Most of the things he's ever done have and will stand the test of time in my opinion.
