New from Wisconsin

Post by gbrown14 »

Hey everyone. I'm in the market for a new amplifier and stumbled across this site while doing some research. It seemed to be the most useful, so I decided to sign up. I'm just a casual at home player, but decided I might as well enjoy the gear I'm playing through if I'm going to do it!

what part of the state are you from?
I grew up just west of the Dells, in Vernon County - just outside of Hillsboro.

What kind of amps are you looking at?

I'm about 20-30 minutes west of Milwaukee.

Right now I'm looking to step away from combo amps to mix things up a little. I don't want to break the bank since I'm just playing at home, but I want something decent. Hoping to stay under $400. I like to play all types of rock music, from lighter all they way up to pretty heavy music. I'm looking at the following right now:

1. Bugera 333XL (On sale for $279 on MF)
2. Randall RX120RH
3. Orange CR120H (Used)

Any other suggestions are welcome! I'm looking at 2x12 cabinets too. I started a topic in the Amps, Guitar & Gears section regarding the two cabinets I'm looking at.

Any budget marshall clone should work...or a used marshall obviously.

I'll toss in Laney and PV as options to look into.

Hey all.
Greg gk Borden here from San Jose Ca

Cool to see other cheese heads.
Getting back into playing after a long hiatus.

Saw the recording talk and someone had the same old zoom Mrs. 1608 I have.

I'm originally from Sheboygan myself but gigged all over the state
If you call dive bars and getting stiffed by club owners gigging ;)

Very cool site

I'd love to rebuild my old vintage stuff up again.
All in good time.
