Yes. That was my favorite part. I haven't seen it in YEARS but I want to say the rest was a bunch of D-level neverbeen hairmetal bands with bits and pieces of Lemmy and Alice Cooper thrown in to give some legitimacy. It has been a bit, so I could be wrong.

On a unrelated note, something in this thread must be hosted somewhere our web filter doesn't like as this thread is just churning like a mother f**ker.

The second one spent a lot of time focusing on the LA scene, which I found fascinating at the time. Line of the whole movie was the dude saying when he dies he just wants somebody to toss him in a ditch and go, "later, pal."

And yeah, Mave was in it, at the height of his douchebaggery. Recording session for So Far, So Good. . . So What. Smoking weed, human skulls, blah blah blah.

I've tried looking up the first one just to see it and haven't ever managed to find it. I should really go on the hunt for both of them again.

Yeah, this thread is coming to a standstill for me too.

That said, , I think the guitar tone is pretty rippin' on this track. Sounds like Joan Jett "Hate my self for lovin you!

I know Chris fairly well. I wouldn't say we're close friends but we have a lot of friends in common and used to hang out with the same crowd a few years ago before he moved to Europe. He's not an asshole at all, just someone who battles the disease known as alcoholism, aggravated by the fact that his position as a famous rock musician for all these years made it easier for him to go even deeper down that hole. But when he's sober/stable he's fine and a fun guy to chat with. Before he moved, his wife told me the idea was to keep him clean and try to restart his career in Europe, I hope he's able to achieve that, specially sobriety. That said, the video is really bad. The song is ok though, guitar sounds good. It's just really low budget and cheesy.

I was just telling my wife about him the other night, and the pool interview.

I thought he'd be dead by now.

Chris seems like another one of those "damn, what a shame" stories. I LOVE WASP!!! Get hi OFF the mic and just playing and I think in Europe he could get something going. They eat up American rock stars. Shit, I play with James Rivera from Helstar in a band and he's got like 5 working Sabbath Judas Sabbath tributes all across Europe. Germany, England, Croatia, Greece and one of two more I believe. When Helstar has a night off, he's do SJS. Why not, you know? Make some bucks, have fun and keep on keeping on.

I am not implying James is anywhere near Chris's situation. Just making the older American metal star comparison.

This is the greatest video I have seen in a minute. To celebrate such a fantastic contribution to the world of art, I have changed my avatar accordingly. I only hope we can live not in Chris Holmes shadow, but in his light.

Man, I keep forgetting you're in a band with James Rivera.

I've lost 3 past band members to alcohol/drug addiction, may they RIP. Sure hope Chris permanently triumphs over the issues behind the drink.

Sorry man, a frequent unintentional gift I sport.

I guess the point I was trying to make was that for many treating the substance abuse is not enough. Unless the wounds that make one reach for the numbing agent of choice are reconciled / resolved the hurt continues and it's but a matter of time before the pain/anguish/whatever breeches one's capacity for same and self medication follows.

Accordingly I genuinely hope Chris has people in his camp that can help him triumph once and for all.

Hope I didnt fuck up again. Writing ain't my gift, I shaddup nao.

Honestly, on a certain level it's impressive he's still alive the way he treated himself in the eighties. I remember watching Western Decline II and thinking in a movie filled with burnt out rockers, he seemed to officially be the most burnt out.

I need to find a copy of that movie. We used to watch that a lot, but I haven't seen it in years now.

I've never seen any of them.

But am curious.

I've only seen bits from the first one, mainly wanted to see what that Darby dude from the Germs was about. Saw enough :freak:

Second was at the height of hair metal in the 80s. Yes, Megadave was in it. Pretty sure Slayer was in it, too - I think they were the most intelligent interview of the whole movie
