Diezel Hagen Clip

Post by Lasse Lammert »

Here's something slightly different....

Chain:
Gibson Flying V with Seymour Duncan SH-6
Maxon od808
Diezel Hagen Prototype ch3 (settings: see pic)
Mesa OS
Shure SM57

I gotta say the Mesa OS is not the perfect match for this rather dark sounding amp, it sounds much better through a brighter cab...but I thought I'd show you this video anyways.
btw, the Hagen doesn't need the TS to be tight enough, I just love feeding as many mids as possible into the first gain stage ;)

Smooooth. How would you compare it to the Herbert?

The herbert sounds more "polished" but also more "plastic"/2-Dimaensional.
the Herby has much deeper bass and a more modern vocing, the Hagen has loads of juicy mids...totally different sounding amps IMO

I was hoping you wouldn't say that.

Pretty much sounds like it would fix all the things I don't like about the Herbert. (Too transparent, too middle of the road, lacks a character of its own).
