These combo locks on guitar cases only prevent the owner!

Post by Bonano »

I bought this guitar used and I took it for granted that the case opened every time. Well, apparently my kids got to it and messed with the combo and locked me out. I had to start at 000 and worked my way up to the 500s until I unlocked it.

Now that I think about it, these locks only keep the owner out and not thieves. I can't imagine the lock preventing a thief from stealing the guitar, ; he/she would just take the whole thing, and then perhaps just break the lock to get to the guitar.

Lol damn, that sucks!

I'm glad all my cases are key locks instead of combi-locks.....not that I ever use them, though.

I'd have just snapped the lock. After snapping my kids' necks, of course.

Shoulda picked it bro... for future reference look inside the cracks between the wheels with a flashlight.. the little spindle that the wheels rotate on have a dimple.. when all three are lined up you have the correct combo.

Y'know, I should've thought of that. But I took this guitar to work and had some down time. It took less than 10 minutes. Which only goes to show how further useless these locks are.
