I really wish they would bring back the Tele model... that and I'm not a big fan of the recessed Floyds... I think the new EVH Superstrats are surface mounted, so that's probably where I'd put my money

Yeah the striped EVH's have dive-only trem. That's how he's always had them + they have the thumbwheel truss rod adjustment which is a HUGE plus point for me.

yeah.. I'm not big on floating vibes at all, I rather tuning stability and the ability to drop D without sending my entire guitar out of tune. What I like about the EVH strats is they come with the D-Tuna installed so that's one less thing for me to buy and install after market. I'm also kinda partial to the black and white stripped model..... the ONLY thing that would change my mind now would be if Charvel released the Tele model, which doesn't look like it's going to happen...

Yep. The white one, or any other hum single, could very well be in my future. I would prefer a maple neck though.

I see that they finally got the hint and went with all SD's. OK. Maybe I was the only one that didn't like the Tone Zone in the SoCal. I pulled it from the candy green one I have almost right away.

really??? a friend of mine had the Wolfgang special with it and he has no problems using it.... the only reason he sold it was because he hardly played the guitar and a guy made an offer on it he couldn't refuse

My EVH Wolfgang has one and I had a shit time trying to get the guitar to stay in tune after using the D-Tuna. All my strings would go sharp after I pulled out the D-Tuna and when I push it back in, the Low E would go flat.

I tried everything. Increasing the spring tension till I could increase it no more. I added one more spring and still, no go.

On a whim, I decided to try 46-9 gauge in Eb and all of a sudden, the guitar kept in tune much better. I don't know why but it just did.

Ask your friend to use a good tuner and check his tuning after pulling out the D-Tuna and after pushing it back in. I'm willing to bet that his tuning will be off.

he doesn't have the guitar anymore.... sounds like a pain but who knows... I JUST might get it to work lol... even then I still prefer the dive only set up of the EVH over the routed Floyd on the Charvels...

Cheapo 1-ply pickguards don't belong on a $900 guitar.

That's weird. I have a D-Tuna on my San Dimas and it's solid. The only time the tuning is off is if it gets hung up on the fine tuner, which is user error because I wasn't paying attention. Other than that, it always works like it should for me.

Wear some sweet Oakley blades and no one will even notice the pickguard.

They do lack the look of being violently vomited up by the 80's.
