Hmm... trying to come up with other guitarists that go clear back to the beginning and had remotely parallel career paths - Ritchie Blackmore, Jimmy Page? Both can be traced to Sabbath - Page > Bonham > Iommi (Bonham was good friend, even best man at wedding, then pissed Dio off by making a crude remark), and Blackmore > Gillen > one of the worst Sabbath lineups.

This is a good one - can't wait to see how it turns out

Ian Gillian was in Deep Purple and Black Sabbath. Don Airey was in Ozzy's band, Rainbow, Deep Purple, and Sabbath. Glenn Hughes was in Deep Purple, although not at the same time as Blackmore, and was sort of in Sabbath briefly. I've probably missed a couple connections.
