I use Grover locking tuners and it's soooo easy. Just pull the string through, leaving enough slack for 1 round, then tune, stretch, tune again and done. It takes less than 10 minutes. Locking tuners should be standard on ALL guitars IMO.

I have clan hands, but my body chemistry is very acidic. My hands rot strings & hardware prettyy quick.
I take green scotch-brite pads & scrub down my strings every so often, til I can change 'em.
