Its never broken a string, but when it needs a change, I have no choice but to change them. So I made changing them as easy as possible lol.

I use Grover locking tuners and it's soooo easy. Just pull the string through, leaving enough slack for 1 round, then tune, stretch, tune again and done. It takes less than 10 minutes. Locking tuners should be standard on ALL guitars IMO.

It really depends on your personal preference and also on how much you play. I usually change the strings for my guitar for every three months.

When I started out, I change every three months. I wipe the strings before AND after use.

When I got here in the US and was gigging, I change the main guitar strings every month.

These days, back to every three months to the main guitars I play, since I don't gig anymore.

I know a guy who goes through this big string wipedown after he plays.

Meh... too much work for me, I'd rather just change strings...

besides new strings always sound so nice!

I'm super anal about washing my hands before I play, and my hands don't sweat very much. :-??

I have clan hands, but my body chemistry is very acidic. My hands rot strings & hardware prettyy quick.

I take green scotch-brite pads & scrub down my strings every so often, til I can change 'em.
