1980's Gibson Sonex Deluxe - hit it??

Post by Hookandcanman »

Guy is asking 150. Says the neck was professionally repaired but G string seems difficult to tune. Otherwise all original He says:

"The crack (see photo) is fixed well. However I've noticed that the G string is affected and although it tunes and intonates fine, when it is fretted it sounds a little out of tune. It is possible to split the tuning difference and get it sounding good, however."

Opinions? I'm a sucker of oddball Gibbies... :idk:

I'd hit it. They seem to be going for considerably more on ebay.

I'm a fan of ugly guitars btw.

That was my first electric guitar, same model and color.
I sold my Suzuki RM80 and used the cash to buy a brand new Sonex in the summer of 1982. I had to work a few more months to get an amp, a Peavey Decade.

Ahhhh, the memories.
