Is he trying to sell the patent? The last I remember, he wasn't taking orders for them. I'm baffled as to what his business model is.

business model is look at what i got.

no it's not for sale, but i got these drums.

deception tactics to sell his main product which is drums. can't really innovate drums anymore than they already are. so he stuck a speaker in a bongo.

So, where did Joey get all his money? I mean, it can't be cheap doing all this shit and while its not like "millions invested" or anything, its many 10s of thousands at the slightest.

How does someone who is obviously batshit insane have piss away money like that?

Yes, I am jealous a batshit insane drum salesman has piss away thousands and I don't.

10s of thousands? I doubt that. I tried to ask the guy a legit question- what type of material are these made out of? Birch, maple etc and plied like drum shells.....or are they made of PVC sh!tter pipe from a hardware store? He couldn't even answer.

I was just figuring from getting a NAMM booth and traveling out there two or three time you'd be wrapping up a few grand each time? So 10s of thousands = 20-30k, which to me is a whole lot of money to piss away on stupidity. Of course, even if its just 10k that's still too much too piss away on pure stupidity.

All it will take is Behringer or FMC or Korg or some other music giant to buy his invention. They don't even have to manufacture them right away or even put them into R&D - just takes one company to buy up the idea as a safeguard against one of the other guys buying it.

I personally look forward to the day that Joey Klops becomes a millionaire off this and points and laughs at us, myself included. :D

This is about what odds he has

10% chance of making money off them
30% chance someone will steal the idea and change it enough that it can be passed off as something different by a larger company
60% Chance he will lose his ass on trying to promote his idea and cut his loses and give up.

You have to root for a guy with a dream that made it all the way to the biggest musical trade show in the US with his idea. But his presentation doesnt look professional and he doesn't come off as a business owner.

I walked passed it. The guy in front of me gave a wtf look so I look over and there he is. sorry to be a buzzkill but he looks like he has some sort of mental disability. I instantly felt sorry for him. The booth was deserted.

I always assumed that he did the whole Klops thing just as a way to get into NAMM. That really seemed to be all he ever talked about, just getting into the show.

I guess that was his business model:

a.) make dumb product
b.) take it to NAMM

Joey really did offer me a badge to go to NAMM today. I had to pass because I wasn't done with inventory. :(
