Fitness type stuff. Was into fighting/martial arts til my mid thirties when I got too beat up. My daughter is on the Jr. High cross country team, so I've been running a lot the last couple of years. Gotta keep up the adrenalin and endorphins. Yes I do. Plus my job as a land surveyor keeps me pretty busy about 40 or so hours out of the week.
If you are near my age(40) and still skating hard, good!!!!
I slammed too hard a few too any times in my late twenties/early thirties when I didn't have any health insurance. So I pretty much retired. Brusied ribs always feel broken and seeing stars and butterflies a couple times too often made me think twice.
Which was sad actually. Because Skater Island was one sick park. The snake run and the bowl were some of the best workouts I've ever had. I felt great after the session. But the next morning, my quads would be blazing and sore.
yeah 43, been skating since '78. I've slowed down some. No big vert these days, and I really don't hit the park that much anymore. I used to be into giant slalom too. Now, I mainly do downhill because road rash feels a lot better than a broken hip or back. It's a pretty good rush to go fast on a skateboard, and I'm relatively good at it (read: I can stay on my board for the most part), so it's a win/win.
Congrats on Skater Island. Always wanted to hit it, but never made it to the East coast while it was open. Can't beat a good snakerun.
And yeah, health insurance is obviously a huge consideration when skating. Luckily, I get Aflac* accident insurance through my employer, and those nice folks actually cover skate related injuries, believe it or not. I wanna say they cover pretty much any activity besides sport climbing, and any "air" sport (skydiving, paragliding, etc).
*not a shameless endorsement
i got to skate the marseilles bowls, fun stuff south seas in portsmouth uk, too. only famous parks ive been to.

Never had any volunteers so, to answer the question: just my own face... and I know where this is going... ...I don't have the nerve to use a straight razor anywhere near the hydraulics!

i used to have an ultra hipster (like before the hipsters, and angrily so,...basically if he saw someone else doing something that he was into , he would immediately cast whatever it was aside and make fun of it) guy on my ship who was into old school shaving for a minute or two.
always wanted to do it/have it done.

Same here. I've very seriously considered doing a food truck, but I'm scared of entering that realm where it no longer is a hobby, and becomes a grind...
Are you prepared to work from 9pm until 4am in your roach coach?
Because this is where you will capture the "pre-game" crowd and the "fucking bombed, about to throw up need greasy taco" crowd.
You are doomed with no taco on the menu. You can even name it something phaggy to go with your fusion cuisine- it doesn't matter, just make sure there is something that can be eaten single handedly with no utensils. This is key.
Fat nerd fest over here... reading, video games, building Gunpla, cooking, and I play D&D every weekend with a regular group. I don't have time for much else, including music lately.

Taco on The League inherited his uncle's porno van when he died and made a food truck out of it. He called it Taco's truck, and didn't sell tacos haha.
Other locations for a Roach Coach are in Industrial /business areas... breakfast and lunch. NYC is loaded with gourmet trucks on almost every corner... French/Vietnamese, Cajun, Italian, Mexican, German, Japanese, etc all charging big $$$ Bought a hogie at a French/Vietnamese truck... it sounded good on the menu but, it made me gag and had to chuck it!

paying on shit i dont own anymore seems to be a habit, that glady i have kicked finally. feelsgoodman
i am getting the restaraunt/foodtruck bug actually. slowly but surely. i can feel it faintly grasping at me through the ether. though i know i do not have NEAR the amount of dedication required for such little payoff. but who knows. if i ever get fired or something, maybe.
