I liked it a lot. Definitely a change of pace type of action/drama movie.

I had to take leave and go home bc in the process of taking my clothes off I apparently didn't unbutton my shirt and instead ripped it off.

Do you really want to see them? She'll be 50 next year...and the movie is called Gravity. :notme:

When i saw the trailer for this, it made me wonder if it was based on the short story "Kaleidoscope" from Ray Bradbury's Illustrated Man

I'm sorta intrigued by this. I mean, I've seen the trailer a bazillion times and it does nothing for me, but the reviews I've read and peoples opinions are either OMG AWESOME or What a waste of time so I'll pry check it out sooner or later.

Trust me its really good. They had a team of scientists to keep things realistic physics wise. Some people are just nit picking. The movie is beautiful.

I gotta see this in 3D, I am going tomorrow or the next day. I haven't seen a 3D movie since 1953/4, but I've been told the modern quality is a lot better than the old days.

Thanx to the OP for posting the trailer :thu:

See it on the biggest screen you can and sit close enough so you can't see the side of the theater and it will be intense as fuck.

It's not nitpicking. There really are some major flaws. Like the title of the movie itself. I hope they didn't pay that team of scientists very much because they didn't do a very good job.

I mean, it's not like I go in expecting everything to be accurate but it's ALMOST Pearl Harbor level bad.

I still want to see it though because I'm sure it's all about the characters.

the main scientific gripes (that dont really mess with the movie, and some liberties were taken for entertainment purposes):
-different inclination angles of the orbits for the objects involved (hubble, ISS, russian sats, etc.)
-clothing worn....while fun to look at, astronauts, sandra bullock or not, dont come in from EVAs and undress to their skivvies...they wear other special garments, in this case a pressure cooled suit, and are drenched in sweat supposedly
-EVA gloves can grab anything by the most basic of a lobster grip, making the action packed last second one-handed grabs unrealistic
-SAFER prevents spiraling out if tether breaks

but the actual movement, etc. is supposed to be pretty good.

I just saw the movie in 3D this morning. It might not be technically perfect, but it was great entertainment and well worth seeing. Lotsa fun :thu:

Saw the trailer. In general high suspense movies feel toxic to me. I've lived for the past decade without regular television programming at home so I might be a little 're-sensitized' to edge of your seat type film production. Sure, I've watched a lot of moves and I netflix some tv shows that have been suspenseful. In general as the years roll along I feel really out of touch with movie and television entertainment and most of it fills my head with nonsense and fears. I don't like the feeling of being on a roller coaster while watching tv anymore.

The last 45 minutes or so of this movie had me on the edge of the seat big time. I had consumed 4 cups of coffee before the movie and a huge soda during the movie and I had to piss so bad I could almost taste it for the last 30 minutes. I was thinking about pissing back into the huge soda cup because I couldn't tear myself away from the action but common sense prevailed and I literally ran to the restroom as soon as the movie ended.
