Without my computer for a couple weeks, UGH!

Post by mrelusive »

So one of my sticks of RAM crapped out on me. No big deal, it's under warranty and I have two 2 gb sticks in that thing. Go to the website to fill out an RMA# request and it turns out that since I bought em in a set, I have to send em BOTH back to get them replaced.

Didn't think it'd be that big of a deal, but ALL my shit's on there. Recording stuff, music, guitar exercises, games, etc. I can use my wife's laptop for the internet, but damn... as soon as I can't do it, I've never wanted to record so bad in my life.

And it's right during the time that I don't have a car and I can't have any alcohol and i'm home by myself for the entire time i'm not at work. BORED!!!

I actually ordered two more sticks from them while I was at it.

And yes, I trust their RAM. Never had one of theirs go out on me til now and it's been over a year with this current setup. Forgot it was so cheap for the pair or I woulda bought another set months ago. ... then again, that woulda made it a bit more of a bitch to figure out which one was bad... :idk:

I don't think I've ever had a ram stick fail. I've had hard drives and power supplies shit the bed but never solid state stuff like RAM. I just hit the local high end Computer place who builds custom systems and they warranty everything they sell. In fact, they built my gamer.
