Built my son a bed... Pix...

Post by madryan »

So little man outgrew his little convertible toddler bed thingie so I built him a bed that has storage under it and is quite sturdy. 3/4in Birch plywood which I then painted a color he picked out.

Here's the anthology of pix...

I used my saw guide and my trusty little 5-1/2in Skil Saw for most of it.

If I have a problem with it sliding off I'll get some small oak stock and make little tiny rails to keep the mattress on. The Painted surface was done with a roller and as such is sorta "bubbly" as I purposely didn't sand that part after the first coat so it's almost like grip tape.

Looks great, man. Quality build. Cute kid, too. :thu:

The bed looks great and it's really cool that you built it! He's gonna be one proud kid.

That looks awesome! First thing I thought was you should have made the storage into a horizontal 4x12 cab so your son can rock out
