Anyone here NOT have any tattoos?

Re: Anyone here NOT have any tattoos?
I really cringe at poor people that can't rub two nickels together yet spend every amount of money they scrounge together on random tattoos.
Mostly 20 something's living with their parents that drop their weekly paycheck on cheap tattoos.
Funny how often those same girls usually have kids that the state pays for.

This probably describes most ICP/Juggalo tattoos

I'll have another in about three hours from now.
I'm here with wifey, and she convinced me to take the time block after hers to get something I've been meaning to get for a few years.

I have zero. Then again, I'm an old fart baby-boomer. Most folks my age don't have them.

None here. Most of my friends do. It was just never my thing.
Slightly OT, but I especially hate tattoos on girls. It looks REALLY trashy. I see young girls with tats all over their arms and wonder if they don't know how terrible they look and how awful it's going to look in their 40's.

. . . or 50's or 60's etc. The older a person gets the worse the tatts look, on men OR women.

Hey, that's me you're talkin' about.

I think it may be a cultural, generational thing. I'm about ten years removed from the generation that thought tattoos were for sailors and bikers.

I'm 39, my wife is 37, and we're both actively acquiring new tattoos as we careen towards 40. We're comfortable enough financially that we can afford good artists (and when we aren't, we're smart enough to wait), we're experienced enough to only get things tattooed on us that are personally meaningful, and I think I can speak for her as well as myself when I say that neither of us could possibly give a shit less what anyone else will think of our tattoos when we're 45, 65 or 85.
We're going to get old. We're going to get wrinkly. You may not think tattoos on old wrinkly skin look very sexy, but I submit to you that most old wrinkly people aren't very sexy, period, unless you already thought they were sexy before they got old.

Re: Anyone here NOT have any tattoos?
We have lots of old folks here in Fl and I see wrinkely tatts all the time. I would never tell anyone what they should or shouldn't do to feel comfortable with themselves. I am considerably older than you, but because I would still not get a tatt doesn't mean that anyone else should make my choices or I theirs. Enjoy your tatts and your youth... life is too short to stress over what others think about your comfort zone.

Re: Anyone here NOT have any tattoos?
Bad diet & lack of exercise makes people age horribly, tattoos are the least of most peoples' worries.

Re: Anyone here NOT have any tattoos?
I definitely understand those who don't have any.
I think its silly when someone says "I want a tattoo but I don't know what to get."
REALLY?!
Most of mine are on the larger side and each of which I considered for minimum of 6 months before actually following through with it.
My half sleeve is a piece of art that I drew in 2003 and had considered getting tattooed on me since 2006 or so and didn't follow through on until 2012 after I had put the picture up in my house for a year in a place where I had to see it multiple times a day.
I definitely understand negative opinions of them from folks that see people with nothing but flash art tattoos that chose on a whim.
Don't throw the baby out with the bath water though and discount those who put a lot more time and thought into it.

I was 25 when I got my first, I usually wait a year or two in between new additions.
I've got a couple artists I click well with & trust enough to get work from them.
It's a tedious process honestly, but I dont foresee me looking back 20 years from now regretting what I have.
I also understand why some people take no interest in them. There's a lot of crap tattoos out there, and not enough real art.
