So, how much are you worth?
We constantly see/hear about people complaining about their pay, what they're worth, etc.
So, what do you think you're worth? Put what you do and what you think your pay should be. I'm interested to see.
Me? I'm a farmer. It's a job that absolutely rules, the quality of life makes up for every shitty thing I have to encounter on the job. There's nothing like working outside, not having to hide my opinion or be politically correct. No corporate politics and ass kissers are frowned upon. Perfect.
In my head (it's hard to quantify since I'm the owner) but if I was going to take a guess, I'd say 60-80k a year would probably be about right for my job. Unless it was some huge mega deal the. 150k would be tops.
How about you?

just comparing what i do mentally on the day-to-day to what I am expected to (when im not posting), and the money at play with the product i am managing the production of, i'd say about 40% more than i get now. but this place is stingy as fuck. its not the 80s anymore

Lol. No one is to post what they actually get paid. I don't want to know anything about a persons salary. That's private.
I'm just interested to see the difference in what the worker thinks they should be paid and what the companies think.
Like I said, my job encompasses many parts like managing the ranch, irrigation, field work, and all other farming activities.
Then all the other shit, sales, marketing, advertising, procurement, etc.
Ranch managers make about 45K so I just tack the other shit on.

I charge $60 an hour for what I do, and companies that use me charge significantly more for the service I provide.....for what I do, I think it's fair...I only work about 15 mins out of every half hour. Would I bitch if someone called up and said "we're raising our rate, so yours is going up to $100 per hour"? No...but it's cool. I work at home so I don't have to commute, shower, or even work if I don't want to. Plus I get to play guitar off and on all day long. I'm pretty happy with it.

Re: So, how much are you worth?
I'd like to say I'm worth 6 figures, but if I'm completely honest with myself I still have some growing to do and things to prove before I can make a confident argument toward that. I make several thousand less that 100K... but I'm well on my way and the track I'm currently on looks promising. Steady annual growth that fairly matches my growing responsibilities and level of performance.
One day.

I am the chair of one of the largest college English departments on the west coast. I should make about $120K a year but instead I make about half that. But I have tenure and solid benefits so I put up with it.

Well, since I make the water safe for public consumption, I should be paid more than most. Not to mention the fire department doesn't exist without the water we put in the pipes and hydrants....

Re: So, how much are you worth?
I've never priced it out regionally, so I am not sure. Salary, benefits and overtime, I'll clear $60,000 this year. But it comes at a significant price to my social life and interests. I work all kinds of crazy hours and shifts. Not to mention, being emergency personnel, I have to be to work regardless of the circumstance. The saving grace of it all is that my job is completely impervious to the economy. No matter how bad it gets, I'll make my money just for showing up and putting in the time.
Now, recently I was given the blessing from management to pursue top level licensing in the industry. It won't be easy and the money won't come over night. But once I get my Grade4 operators license I should never fall out of the $75,000-$100,000 bracket. Again, just for showing up and doing my 40 hours a week. With more time served and experience, that pay bracket should go up. Also, it will depend on how I want to leverage my licensing. talents and handsome looks.

Re: So, how much are you worth?
my opinion above stems from what people do around me and what they get paid in comparison. i am adequately paid in general, but compared to others here, i deserve what some of the execs get.

Re: So, how much are you worth?
i am very, very, very blessed. i am not sure if i am lucky or a very hard worker or a combination. started at my job 4 years ago making dick and now i am doing beyond great after a series of promotions. my job doesnt use my degree and i didnt get referred in by anyone so it feels good to really have done this on my own. i love my life and it feels good seeing the rewards and not living paycheck to paycheck anymore. i think i am paid fairly since its 50% commision, means i am also making the company a lot of money. i have been leading the dept for months now so job security is def there.
Re: So, how much are you worth?
Very little. I've been underachieving in a major way for about a decade now.

Like total net worth? Assets minus Liabilities?
Well, I just bought a house. So if I died tomorrow...
Let's just say it's fairly negative.
(it's a nice house and I'm probably underinsured)
