Being a guy that loved pop punk in the late ‘90s to mid ‘00s AND having just started a pop punk tribute band I think it’s only fitting that I purchase a Tom Delonge signature Strat.

I actually had one built before he had an official sig model back in the day that is sparkle blue and has a LP scale neck and ebony board. Then I built an orange partscaster one. Now I have an official one that is way more than a MIM guitar should be. Whatever though. Mid life crisis time, I guess.

The original ones skyrocketed in price so I stopped even trying to get one. I always wanted one and since these are basically identical to the original run I went and pulled the trigger.

I also like that they were/are routed HSH so I can always add pickups if my needs ever change.

I dig this. I guess some folks were balking at the price and I get it, it’s MIM… but original run MIMs of the Tom Delonge go for way more than this. So enjoy. I have a recent MIM Charvel that I love so I can’t imagine this being bad.

Yeah I have zero issues with MIM Fender these days. They've been making some really good gear for quite a while now.

I agree. Plus these were going for around $800 20 years ago. That puts these in the same ballpark. I doubt this will replace my Suhr in my other cover band but this is one of those “must buy” guitars for me.

Not gonna lie the more I like at it the more I want one. I do need a single humbucker guitar in my stable for just pure RAWK. Single volume, hard tail bridge MAYBE a push/pull for some split coil tones but that’s it.

I'm also not a Blink fan, but that's like the perfect Strat for me: Rosewood board, hardtail, bridge humbucker, volume knob out of the way. It's even green!

I am a Blink fan so that’s part of why I like it. Gimme that and I’ll play Dude Ranch riffs on it day long.

Have one of the originals in the shop now getting a full refinish as the finish has cracked and chipped all over. Assuming from abuse but does seem a bit excessive. Dude is paying $700 for the refin. Which is not about the cost for stripping all that off and refinishing, but WHY would he spend that on that guitar I thought? And then the owner told me how high the originals are going for these days. Kinda crazy. It’s a cool guitar tho for sure

Good man. I think I’m gonna relearn some Blink tonight anyway. I feel like jamming Emo. The song not the genre as a whole.

I've been digging the one Tom has been using for this tour, a single humbucker semi-hollow Starcaster

Totally fair. They were my gateway into a lot of other bands so I love them for that. That said, I stopped listening after Take Off Your Pants and Jacket.

I mean you’re not missing much after that, let’s be honest.

Damn, I remember in the mid 2000's when I could buy the original ones all day for under $300. Great sounding and playing guitars! And I love the simplified look. Congratulations!

I think they retailed at $800. Under $300 I’d be buying them all day.
