Welp. Ordered another guitar from Japan

Post by duncan »

So after hunting for a reasonably priced EBMM Stingray (which there are none), I came across a beautiful piece in the land of the rising sun.

I’ve always low-key wanted an ES-335 (or 339), and I have quite a love affair for Japanese versions of American guitars.

Enter a ‘78 Greco SA-700 in walnut.

Should be here sometime this month.
I used to play guitar.

yeah that is a great guitar. I need a 335 style in my collection and I'm probably going to buy one of those since I can't afford the Gibson prices for this... the Grecos are excellent anyways so no reason to pay more.
Guitars:
'78 Les Paul Pro / '89 SG Special/ '04 Gibson Les Paul Classic 3 pickup / Jackson Star/ Endres Tele / Fernandes Rhoads/ ''74 Hohner MIJ strat/ 2 Partscasters

Amps:

Cabs
Marshall 1960A w V30s/ Seismic 2x12 w Redback and V30.

I want a hollow body so badly. I need to get better educated on the vintage Japanese stuff. That's a great way to get in the door without having to donate a limb.

Sweet score!

And for what it’s worth, the greco and Burny guitars I’ve owned have been on par with their Gibson counterparts

I don't doubt it. I have a soft spot for Japanese guitars. All three of my Levinson Blades are MIJ. They play like greased lightning.
