Anyone know a fix/hack for this?

I can't be the first person to have this happen. Anyone smarter than me know a way to salvage this case? Two of the three latches are like this.

I sorta of do, but not really.

My "fix" was to get a new hinge and install right next to the broken one. Drill the holes for it, then on the inside of the case, you need to pull out the lining a bit to access the holes from the inside. Use short screws to hold the hinge in place and tighten them from the inside with nuts and use a dab of Loctite Thread Locker to keep them in place.

For the missing/broken piece, I just tape it up with Gorilla tape.

So it's not really a fix, since the broken hinge is still broken, but it works since the case is closed with the same amount of hinges and lid is stable.

So there's another piece of brazilian engineering for you. Which is the same as redneck engineering, but brown. Good luck.

It's not the hinges that are broken, it's the latches that hold the case shut. The hinges are on the other side, they are fine, but two of the three latches to hold the case shut were missing when I got the case (a throw in with a used guitar I bought years ago). Right now my daughter's Jackson DR3 lives in it, and she doesn't take it anywhere yet, but she will eventually.

It's still the same thing. Install a latch right next to the broken one and tape up the broken spot.

Should have typed hinges. Rivet gun kits are cheap at harbor freight, so are drills.

Also you could put tape on backside and use jb weld steel reinforced epoxy to fill holes and redrill for same size rivets.

Might could grind the head off the rivets. If they are round heads could be a pain to drill

This is literally what I've been doing up to this point. :thu:

Anyone know where I can get latches that will fit this? The only one's I've found so far are big industrial sized latches that wouldn't fit in the area I have to work with. :bang:

Do you know the brand? Some brands will send out replacement parts for little to no money. I've heard of Fender sending replacement latches and hinges for free.
