Metropoulos Head Master Mk III & Metroplex Mk II Preorders

Post by greatmutah »

George is expecting to have these out sometime in this July. Link below.

https://store.metropoulos.net/products/ ... -pre-order

From the website:

All the functions you demand from the Metropoulos Head Master with updated design and motif.

The Head Master MK III is the most transparent, reliable, safe for your tube amp solution for two heads into one speaker cab available. It’s also the best solution for your back up amp on stage. If your main amp goes down, you flip the switch and keep rolling in mere seconds.

New MK III features include:

Heavy steel chassis with familiar gold control panels.
No more wall wart! Simple AC cord works at any voltage.
Classic lamps for indicating which amp is active (no more little LEDs).
Pushbutton ground lifts for both guitar outputs.
Snappy rocker switches for power and amp selection.

Features that have always set the Head Master above the competition:

Absolutely transparent signal path. What goes in, comes out 100%.
Fail safe default design. Even without power, signal stays routed to AMP A.
Independent 50 watt loads for each amp keep your inactive amp safe.
Rugged and reliable for any scenario.
Wide and balanced to sit firmly on top of a head, even with all cables patched.
Intuitive color coding and detailed hook up diagram.

Full disclosure: I do NOT get a commission from Metropoulos for promoting his stuff. I consider George a friend and like his products even if I can’t afford most of them. I figure you guys might appreciate some of these too.

Looks cool!

Does this switch amps or are you able to run two amps into the same cab with this?

It only switches amps. No way to run two amps into the same cab at the same time with this. That would be problematic just from an electrical standpoint. That being said, it’s convenient as it keeps each amp on a load when not in use and by plugging directly into this before it goes to your amps, the signal gets shut off from whatever amp isn’t selected. Great if you have two amps sharing a cab (one for clean and one for mean) or have two different amps using one cab but don’t want to switch wiring. So uou can run them into the same cab one at a time with this switcher but it won’t combine both signals.

Rather than make a new thread, I'll post here:

https://store.metropoulos.net/collectio ... DYFq7NTw_Q

Two channels. One based off George's Super Lead #12380 with switchable bright caps. The other based off Super Lead #12301. 100 watt and 50 watt heads available. You can see the Head Master in action too with his Superlead and the new amp. Preorders go live at 3PM EST hence the SOLD OUT listed for those currently. 25 amps per run.

Features and specs:

100 watts RMS @ 4, 8 or 16 ohms with half power switch (50W100W)

full size plexi style head in black and gold motif

two channels: 12380/12301 switchable from the front panel or via footswitch

three way switchable bright cap on 12380 channel (none/500pF/5,000pF)

Zero Loss FX loop with level switching (rack or pedal)

(3) 12AX7 preamp tubes (4) EL34 power tubes

Outstanding opto based master volume (one for each channel)

Four classic bands of tonal control (TREBLE, MIDDLE, BASS, PRESENCE)

NOTE: the amp pictured here is the prototype. Some aesthetics and functions may change.

I may have fucked up Billy’s plans for not buying anything after his purge.
