BSGW amps from Ukraine???

Post by ZEEGLER »

I'm not sure if ordering an amplifier from the Ukraine would be advisable at the moment, but have any of you guys heard of this dude?

This one appears to be a 50watt 5150 clone.

The price is too good to be true

When the war started over there, some Ukraine knife makers started posting knives on amazon for super cheap. Really well made outdoor knives. I don’t know that I’d worry about it. Plus eBay protection is usually solid if you have any problems.

Hell for that price I may consider one lol. But not in that headshell haha.

It seems to use toroidal transformers for power and output. I've seen a lot of amps with toroidal PTs but rarely with toroidal OT. So idk I'd like to hear it first

I ordered a guitar from Russia about 2 weeks before the invasion. Took forever, like to the point of thinking I'd been scammed, but it did eventually make it.

I'd just be concerned with getting scammed and receiving nothing. Going back a few years I was advised by someone (can't even remember who, but he seemed to know what he was talking about) that scammers are rampant in Russia, and if you send money and get nothing, you have no recourse. Don't know how true that is, but considering how many people get scammed by others in the US and Canada, I'm hesitant to order online as it is.

As long as you buy through eBay or Reverb you should be fine. Use a credit card for extra protection.
