Does anyone have much experience with this mic? It seems a pretty cool mic for the price. My budget would be around the £150 mark if anyone has any other suggestions. I can go a little higher than that if needs be.
EDIT: I intend this mic to be my main mic for recording vocals and acoustic guitars.
I have also been looking at the Audix CX212B

Re: Thinking about getting a Rhode TN1-A
Spelled the name of the brand wrong and got the model wrong too.. Nice job... lol.
It'd be a little more like this Rode NT1-a... :-P
Anyway, Rode is a good company.. I recently just sold their tube Mic the NTK.. Very nice Mic.. Built extremely well.. I also have access to the nt2a and that also Is very high end.. For the money they are very good mics and should serve you well.. The nt1 is their budget model, but I've heard very solid reviews for it.. And i think its one of the quietest condenser mics around as far as self noise.. So, it should give nice clean recordings..

Ahh snatch! Rectumfried it.
Interesting... I'm also looking at the Audix ^. It seems to have nice upper mids.

Re: Thinking about getting a Rode NT1-A
IIRC the Rode NT-1 sounded a bit better than the NT-1a, which has more hyped treble.

http://www.sontronics.com/stc2.htm <- UK based company, round about your budget price, and I like them.

Re: Thinking about getting a Rode NT1-A
Thanks Cirrus. Does anyone else have any suggestions? I want to look at a range of different mic's (I am already) so I can find something I feel is appropriate. Your opinions are most welcome!

Re: Thinking about getting a Rode NT1-A
What sort of sound do you want? At the budget end, condensor mics tend to be a bit harsh and flat sounding. The Rode NT-1 is good, as is the Sontronics one above. I really like the Oktave MK-012 but it's an SDC so not the same as the kind of thing you're looking at. Very smooth sounding though and lots of body. I love it for acoustic guitars but never really found a vocal it shines on.
The Audio Technica stuff is surprisingly good for the price, and I think some of the Thomann T-bone stuff is good too but there's so many models I get confused.
Typically I've found SE electronics and cheaper AKG stuff to suffer from harsh treble.

Re: Thinking about getting a Rode NT1-A
Thanks dude I'll steer clear of the cheaper SE electronics and AKG stuff.
I want good clarity with vocals and acoustic guitars. That is the main focus. Something that will help them sit well in the mix. Nothing too muddy/ bland.
