Fantasy Island - pretty terrible but inspired me to go back and watch some of the original television series again

Which, also, was terrible. Midgets yelling about planes and Corinthian leather are my only real takeaways from that show

That show was weird. The quality was not at all consistent. One show would be some epic story that went darkside and really beat down the main characters, and the next would be a fruity attempt at being, joyful and overly sweet to the point of making you want to leave the room. And sometimes it's like they forgot they were trying to even attempt to be entertaining.

Like I said, terrible...

I've always liked the show since I was a kid  the indecision between goofy/happy/corny and super dark subject matter always keeps ya guessing

It is better than the stale, non-salted cracker of a plot that you can expect with literally every episode of everything on the air now.

Just finished up the Chris Pratt thing. Some cheese dialog and not high on the originality scale but I thought it was pretty damn good :idk:

Maybe my expectations were so low it just over performed

I kept waiting for a post frozen act to pop up and jump the shark but no such luck. I'd watch this 10/10 times over Independence Day or other similar mindless aliens invade the earth sh!t

Steve busting out the banjo and having an actual backing band was surprising. All in all, those two are hilarious alone or together. The traded "Hollywood Compliments" routine was a great way to kick the show off, and the rest of it was just vastly entertaining.

They don't make 'em like that anymore. I could watch that one again just for the lulz.

Or you have a vagina. My wife was out the second they did the cat juggling. She wasn't loving it anyway, but you know.

It's why I can't watch Three Stooges with her around. She'll just complain about how stupid it all is. THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT!

Another Round - 8/10. Danish highschool teachers try and maintain a steady blood alcohol level to determine how it impacts their performance. There isn't anything poignant or a hidden meaning lurking here. It's just a good story.

Fantasy Island (2020) 6/10..... decent horror/thriller flick with a good twist at the end... that being said it didn't really keep me engaged for some reason.... I kinda almost wish they made it a little more campy and tossed some more blown up gore and titties in the mix

The Ice Road, featuring Liam Neeson with a very special set of truck driving skills.

On a side note, to anyone who’s seen the movie...how was a well head relevant to the rescue of the trapped miners? They never quite explained that.

I'd place this somewhere between the room and battlefield earth. The room dubiously being the top end of the scale in this particular case.

I actually enjoyed Fear Street

I’d give 1994 a 8/10, 1978 a 6/10 and 1666 a 7/10. I enjoyed the first one a lot. The Scream homage and mid 90s vibes certainly helped. 78 was cool but didn’t feel as fun as 94. 1666 was solid. Not as good as the first but definitely gave some more back story and solid resolution.

FWIW these movies really only work because of the Netflix format and being able to stream them weekly as they come out. If I had to wait for normal theatrical releases, I would be less enthused and probably wouldn’t watch them until they all were available for steaming anyway.

yeah..... as campy and cheesy as they were.... I kinda dug them too... I found it a little strange though, like they couldn't decide if they wanted to be a kids/tween type story/movie or a full on adult horror/thriller....
