When I hear Nevermore I think Sanctuary. When I think Sanctuary, I get sadz for nostalgia feels.

Speaking of proto-power metal

I like other albums but Politics is my fave. I saw them with Flotsam and Jetsam on that tour in a small venue and it was PHENOMENAL. Loomis and Dane were great but Tim Calvert was a beast  RIP to that dude as he was killer in Forbidden :rawk:

Damn, man, Forbidden. My wife was hassling one night to listen to Step by Step, and I knew she meant the boy-band trash, so I flipped on Forbidden and told her to STFU, here's your Step by Step.

Couch slept that night. Worth it.

Weird, was expecting a female fronted alt-country band. I must be thinking about someone else.

Man, someone needs to give these guys a hug. They sound so sad.

Nevermore is one of those bands where I dislike the vocalist immensely but love the fuck out of everything else about them so I still jam them

I do like Dane on some things but overall agree with this. His voice is absolutely an acquired taste. But those guitars are always

I will say I found his voice much more palatable when I saw them live :rawk:

They were GREAT! Calvert was running a Langreth rack rig? Can't remember if that was it or something else "L" named. That tone was GODLY in the best of shreddy thrash whle being clean and precise ways. My god :rawk:

One of the best live gigs ever was Forbidden, Sanctuary, and Death Angel.

Yeah, I was about 20 for that show. All 3 bands were at the top of their game. It was a hometown show for Sanctuary so, even though they played second, they did an extended set and ripped it up.
