Just got this yesterday, haven't even took it out of the box. My old ass doesn't get too much time to record but I was just curious if there are any tips anyone may have?

I will be doing research but I am curious on how people set this up to record. Since it is silent I could potentially dime the fuck out of my amp but are there clipping issues? Any sweet spots than you may know of?

Don't run the output level too hot or it can clip. Mine is set under noon and I'm running a superbass I built with a 2xel34 cathode biased poweramp which will push 50ish watts RMS when dimed. I do dime it from time to time but usually I run it cleaner and use pedals.

If you're starting out with WoS then use the arcade mode until you get an ear for what the controls do. This limits you to two cabs sims at a time but that ought to be fine.

I would really recommend trying out the official celestion IRs. I bought a mix n match 5 pack for £28. The creamback 75 and redbacks are great. I've not even tried the others I bought they are that good.

As a quick test I swapped out the WoS IR's for the cramback and redback on a drumjam and it sounded killer out of the gate. I didn't re-eq or anything.

I did some unconventional things in this recording such as totally wet and dry takes, with the wet take using an HM-2 to sound as fucky as possible :cop:

I'll do a proper ground up tone at some point soon.

If you're using any sort of modern high gainer, you will find they generally sound like noisy ass when dimed. Set it to the sweet spot and go to town

I will try to get it set up soon. I do plan to get some of the Celestion IR's. Also decided I will never dime my amp lol. It is 120w and will play it safe.

Using a Rev 2 Uberschall. I think this will make my recordings much better vs using amp sims considering idk how to mix the best.

Congrats. I don't even bother with WOS, it sounds processed as @#$%. I use NadIR.
I found the attenuator sounded like a$$ with my amps.
I love it though, great for silent recording.

WOS:

Don't use the power amp section of WOS if you are using the Bogners poweramp,
Try mixing cabs, I have two V30 Mesas and two Engl cabs in an X pattern.
Don't dime the amp, find the best power amp volume for it.

Download and read the WOS manual, its very short but very helpful.
