I got a gift from the hommie Fretless after having been really impressed by his Plimsoul. He straight up bought me a blem deal Plimsoul.

The Plimsoul is a patented design that blends hard-clipped and soft-clipped gain stages. Very unique response that I’ve never heard in a pedal before. It seems to be slightly modern in overall sound in that it has tight and thick lower frequencies, slightly flattened mids, and smooth focused high. When I run it in front of the Jube it’s like transporting my Laney VH100R back into the room. Very odd to hear and feel for me in a really cool way.

I can use this thing in a lot of different ways. It’s deceptively versatile. I don’t mind the lack of multiple EQ bands or a more centrally mids band. The high cut feels like a low pass and I like it.

I’m using this as another more modern flavor of boost mostly for lead. It’s a nice contrast to the more open and classically raw sound of the OCD. For solos it reminds of the Satchish tones I grew into good tone with.

huh! that's one i've never seen!

the fulltone description makes it sound sorta vaguely klon-esque, i'd love to mess with that thing! sounds super flexible and givey.

eeeenteresting... that's a pretty awesome gift too.

That pedal has always piqued my interest.

Also, The Plimsouls were a fucking great SoCal rock band.

There’s a tiny raised point of paint along the edge of the side at the bottom. Fulltone already has more than fair pricing considering that there is an inherent quality to each pedal but factor in the blem discount and you literally have the best damn bang for buck pedal company I’ve ever encountered.

Fretless is as solid as they come. This particular pedal is very useful and a valuable tool.

Not klonlike (iPhone wants to correct it to Klondike) at all imo. I haven’t played a Klon but I have played 3 klones.

Think Marshallesque amp in a box voiced tight and thick in lows and low mids, less honky slightly more modern flattened mids, and smooth but lazer focused highs. Cleans up really well. That’s what this pedal is with a wide range of distortion and saturation available.

It’s a really good one. Such a different contrast to the OCD but excellent.

And as I’ve come to experience running these Fulltone pedals at 18v is magic.

Really cool. I'm sold on Fulltone boosts. Really liked the FB3 I had. Only sold it because I don't really need one with the 5153.

This is very well put. I was pleasantly surprised how good it is into Mike’s all ready gained up amp. Impressive and unique tone. I always use mine into a cleaner combo and its instant Marshall. It can cop his jube very well. But also compliments an actual Jube ! He went through a few flavors. Had some cool Brian May tones on through the most amazing Satch tone and Damn if Mikey hasn’t done his fair share of woodshedding in his day. This thing is a great match for the player and his rig. And I got mine back too :D

That demo does a pretty good job of showing the differences between them except that I’ll say that the newest OCD had more lows.

The Plimsoul sounds great! It's been on my list of pedals for awhile. A friend of mine uses one with his Greenhandle Plexi-style amp and the tons are killer!

Very nice. This has always been the Fulltone pedal that I've had the most GAS for. That new Mas Malo seems awesome, too. I just hate the knobs on it  those Bazooka bubblegum-esque knobs should be banned - makes every pedal they put them on look cheap

I spent a lot of time with this pedal this weekend and it’s dope af. Really excellent boost.

The Mas Malo seems cool and I agree about the knobs. But I’m looking closely at the Catalyst boost. Also seems very unique and useful.
