I traded in the Pilot today for this beast:

With the addition of the Camry we no longer needed a full time kid hauler, and I really wanted a truck based 4wd SUV for camping, trails, etc. We still needed 3 row seating for family time with all the kids, so we honed in on the Toyota Landcruiser. Unfortunately they hold their value insanely well but someone clues me in that the Lexus GX470 is a sleeper Landcruiser Prado 120 sold elsewhere in the world.

Found this 2008 with 90k miles for a great price. Got rid of the Pilot payment, and gained a new toy. A small lift, 33” tires, rock sliders and a roof rack will round out this rig.

Poor Pilot. Such a great SUV, and averaged 32.1 mpg on the way to Baton Rouge. The Landcruiser is hovering around 19 on the way back  It definitely won’t be a daily driver.

Rip

25k flawless miles

A tail pipe would need a muffler to connect it to :o

I’ve been obsessing over IH8MUD.com :D

I’m starting with rocksliders to replace the running boards and a rear ARB. I used to be a Jeep Guy way back and I think those two things would keep this rig chugging along while I get back in to it

Looks great man!!! The MPG is not good but no car payments more than make up for it specially since it's not daily driver. :)

These are great cars, Lexus are amazing quality and really no WT car. Luxury feel and no frills performance. I had a friend who had a Lamborghini Hurricane 2016, a Land Cruiser and a Lexus much like this one in the same lot.

Congrats and enjoy the good life Dave :thu:

Badass, man! Chick here at work has a newer one like that. Seems pretty solid.

Speaking of Land Cruisers, a stupid ass friend of mine found a MINT condition late 80's model Land Cruiser that was decked the fuck out and looked gorgeous. Some old ass pappy had bought it new and basically never drove it, so it had super low miles. Thing was a total beast, but unfortunately my friend crashes and ruins every vehicle he ever buys so it didn't last long. I was pissed lol

If we didn't have 3 kids then a Tacoma would have been at the top of the list, but we do so had to look at the Landcruisers...

When I get back from vacation in August, I'm putting a Mammoth 2.5" level, 34" Nitto Ridge Grapplers, and the Smittybilt M-1 rock sliders on my F-150. Can't help on the roof rack.

I’m going for the old man emu litft as it seems to be universally loved by the Landcruiser crowd, but I’m curious on the Nittos. I see a lot of trucks with them and they’re aggressive without goin straight up mud terrains.

Rock sliders from a company that specializes in the GX but they’ll be my first mod as the running boards look like they’ll rip right off on the rocks. Stock ground clearance is decent

The guy that put my bed cover on had the Nittos. They look like mud crawlers, but you don't lose anything on-road.

I looked up my old standby, the BFG All Terrains KO, and they’re $225 a pop for 33”. The Nittos were like $140
