Got the KM-7 last week actually but never got around to doing a NGD for it. Also, today I just took ownership of the Helix Floor. YES... I have the LT also. While the LT is fantastic, I kept finding myself eyeballing the Floor and Rack w/controller even though I had no real need for either.

Any who, here's some pics.

I am going to revisit my "Idiots Guide to Helix" series I started when I first got the LT. Going to try and do all content ON THE UNIT instead of using the software and also taking the approach that the viewer has never used a modeler before. The KM-7, I gotta say, is really solid. The neck is huge and the 26.5" scale seems odd on day 1 but honestly it is the first 7-string that I don;t feel confused playing. Going to do a full review vid of it this weekend. I actually really dig the Nazrul/Sentient set and the hum buckers split really well. A couple little issues not disclosed from the seller on Reverb but we got it sorted.

Here's how it was shipped...

And here was the test vid I did to make sure it wasn't DOA...

That's a great looking guitar indeed. I'd like to try the 6 string version of it.

Yeah man I was really unsure of what I was getting into. My previous 7 string experiences were not good, to say the least. The neck is still a little flatter than I prefer now but I can rip up on it as well (or not...) as any of my other 6 string guitars.

Dude, I would buy one in a second. This guitar has really turned my opinion of Schecter around completely. This plays/feels as good as any guitar I have previously owned, and I have owned (and still do own) some quality pieces.

Happy new gear day, hommie!

Excuse my ignorance, but what's the difference between the Helix LT and the floor unit? :idk:

Thanks bud!

Here's from Line6's page:
Helix LT is Helix’s very real, more affordable little brother. Helix, Helix Rack/Control, and Helix LT all have the same DSPs (2x 450MHz ADSP-21469 SHARCS), modeling engines, models, A/D/A converters, op amps, and patented Guitar In with 123dB of dynamic range. They are sonically identical.

Compared to Helix, the differences with Helix LT are:
• No scribble strip LCDs (middle eight footswitch assignments appear on Helix LT’s new colorful Performance view)
• Fewer Ins and Outs:
• 2 Sends/Returns as opposed to 4 (can be stereo linked)
• No mic preamp
• No Aux In
• No S/PDIF In/Out
• Exp 2 In and dual Ext Amp Out share a single jack (function is globally selectable)
• No Exp 3 jack
• No CV Out jack

Less expensive chassis:
• Folded steel top chassis on LT as opposed to extruded aluminum on Floor
• Folded steel expression pedal on LT as opposed to cast aluminum on Floor
• Impact-resistant ABS side panels with rubber overmolding (like those on Helix Control) on LT as opposed to cast aluminum side panels on Floor
• No separate Phones knob (headphone volume is controlled by main Volume knob)
• No 10 Stomp footswitch mode; Stomp mode is limited to 8 switches
• Pedal Edit select view displays 8 blocks at a time instead of 10
• Registered Helix LT owners can purchase the Helix Native plug-in for $299 (normally $399; registered Helix and Helix Rack owners get it for $99)

So IR loading, Snapshots, Command Center, hands free Pedal Edit mode, up to 4 amps at once… all that stuff is included?
Yes.

Can I still custom label my footswitches?
Sure; any custom labels appear in Performance View.

Okay, but what about [feature or model found in Helix]?
Read the top question again. If it’s not mentioned in the list, it’s in Helix LT.

Which model do you have? I know one of the guitar players of Scradle of Filth and he is using their Explorer type in a blood splatter finish that looks kind of cool.

C7 Apocalypse. This Friday will be 2 weeks. I opted for the Pegasus/Sentient set in there over the stock pickups. These are great sounding guitars.

A few differences aside, the construction appears to be exactly the same. That Nazgul bridge you got should be nice and aggressive.

Dude... it is amazingly cool! I love the LT but the Floor blew me away yesterday when I got it. I know all the tones are the same and I don't necessarily need the extra features but my word, it is beautiful in person. I was really surprised. Where as the LT feels a bit more sleek and unpretentious, the Floor seems like some kind of Matrix, Predator tactical type weaponry! LOL!

Also, sec out the clip I posted of Native. Took no time at all to dial in those tones and they are not post-processed. Even used ti for bass. These units are so easy to dial in it is ridiculous.

Man I think you're going to love it. Eli is getting killer sounds out of it and so is Joe Balaguer. Also, don't buy into that "you gotta use 3rd party IR stuff..."

I was wondering which IRs I should get. I'm going to run it through my Vypyr Pro which has an excellent loop, power section and speaker.

Man just do that. I have yet to use an IR except to demo the SinMix presets for him.
