My rgasm has a shit ton of binding bleed. Neck binding is basically pink at the moment. I don't mind it though. Looks kinda cool. What about yours Pablo? Sizzler? Bueller? :D

Is that something that happens over time or fresh from the custom shop?

Although I don't own one, every used 2014 or later one I've seen for sale has had binding bleed. I think it happens as you play, heat from your hands makes the dye bleed. I've never seen it on pics of brand new ones.

Yep pretty sure thats exactly how it happens. I think I read it happened in 2013 when they switched to the more accurate aniline dye? :hmm:

I know when I got mine it looked normal but its the only guitar I've played since March. When I get home I'll take some pics and post them up.

I'm really curious about Pablo's since I think his is a 2012.

As KillaJ pointed out it happens once you start actually playing them. Something about the heat from your hands.

Aluminum doesn't oxidize in that way, you'll be rust free :thu:

Mine is just starting where my thumb hangs over the neck in the second position. I haven't been sweating on it the way you do yours. When I got it in March, I was jamming with a drummer. So I was drenching it. Once I get jamming again, I expect it to increase.

I fucking love my R-Gasm.

I was going to say, I know you've owned it for awhile. Reason I ask is I was reading conflicting info on MLP about when this started. Apparently some of the older Rgasms didn't bleed? But the original 50's one did. To make matters more confusing, some people are saying the bleed eventually fades, and thats why you don't really see on the original 50's LP's.

Shit is confusing.

I've stopped giving any fucks about opinions on MLP and LPF. Most of those threads are about $150 Throback plastics.

I go there for the LP porn.

I got told off on MLP a few weeks ago for stating that I didn't care about buying Klones vs. the real thing. This dude didn't like that I said my ARC Effects Klone is better than the KTR. He also took offense to me stating the Klon guy is way guilty of stirring his own pot.

Anyway, binding bleed. I like it.

Don't suppose you'll link me? I'll go over there and talk some shit. I really dislike my Klon KTR. Overrated.

I remember your guitar having a lot of bleed as soon as you got it and it was one of the cork sniffing features you bragged about. Accurate hide glue, binding bleed from the dye etc etc blah blah  .....these were all talking points every time I came over for at least 6 months. It'll probably do it more as time goes on but it already had that look from the get go

It has noticeably more bleed than it did before.

And Pablo, hilarious troll name for a Les Paul forum. ;)

I got it used in like '06 or '07 I think? Probably early '07, but was awhile ago for sure.

Actually, I don't think it had much bleed at all when I got it. I didn't really start noticing it until a couple weeks in after I had gigged and sweated over it.

Also, for me, I am splitting time between my R0 and LPC. Because, well, life is awesome. Since putting a hotter PAF in the bridge of LPC that shit is mean and dirty.

Anyway, the wear on the R0 is less because of it

It's vitally important that we keep such a serious issue current with the public.

Binding bleed is a sign of success.

Both Skinnerburst and the R0 have extensive binding bleed. Skinner had a bit when I first got it but the R0 had almost none. It's so fucking cool.

The R7 Goldtop has a little but because it's a brown back it's more browning than pink.

You know I am fucking with you guys. :D

Its just funny to me that an unbound LP Studio is not a "real" LP (because its less than a grand), but then having binding on a traditional or a standard ($1500-2500) isn't enough, you gotta get binding that bleeds (aka not done "right" to the tune of north of $5k) in the Rgasm.

I need to come up with a vaccine for Zika Headstock Syndrome. But I wouldn't make any money because everybody buys Gibson Les Paul's anyway.

Nitro + stain will often bleed thru binding. Even board stain will bleed into binding. Doesn't happen with poly finishes tho.

Well technically its "right" since its a copy of a late 50's LP. :idk:

And I forgot to take apic of mine last night.

Nitro + stain will often bleed thru binding. Even board stain will bleed into binding. Doesn't happen with poly finishes tho.

Beautiful nitro!

I need to come up with a vaccine for Zika Headstock Syndrome. But I wouldn't make any money because everybody buys Gibson Les Paul's anyway.

That was the second coming of Gibson when they were building Classic's at historically correct specs. Basically, the earliest versions of the Historic line and best versions of the R0. So it's doesn't surprise me that it's bleeding like a historic or original. They very well may have been using similar dyes.

I look at R-Gasm's everyday. I will most likely buy another this year.

But choosing between Goldtop's and Sexy Tops is hard.
