Well shit.

In New York to make a record. Figured we'd play a show too.. why not, right?

First band came on- guitarist has a nice verellen. Pops a fuse.. replaces it. Plays more. Pops another.

We loan him an amp to finish the set.

We play. First song? Mark ii pops a fuse.

Replace it. Almost no dirt on the gain channel?

Um... I'm here to record.. and my amp just kinda started acting weird.. aw shit.

Get to the studio... Yep dirt channel is acting all kinds of weird, crackling and fussing, and the amp in general is making a shitton of noise even with a full retube..

As it turns out.. I'm running it clean with a micro amp.. sounds fantastic (minus the noise).. but yeah- she's headed back to Mesa as soon as we're done for a rework. :(

Horrible timing, but making the best of it. Grr.

Anyone ever have an amp go weird after something like this?

probably bad/low voltage power - that can cause all sorts of trouble - as the amps start to draw more current to make up for the low voltage.

Or spikes. Good thing the fuse took the bullet for you.

The fuse may have taken the brunt of it, but there are still issues with the amp.

Good luck with the fix!
