Slower the better. I'm purposely leaving out Sleep because we all know them already. I'll start:

And last but not least Thou. I can't stop listening to these guys. Heavy as fuck but still melodic:

Besides the obvious Black Sabbath, Solitude Aeturnus is the quintessential doom band for me   :rawk: :rawk: :fap:

This album is a classic:

The drummer, Chad. He was the bass player in my first band from 88-93. They rehearse and record in an industrial park about 10 minutes south of my house. According to their posts on FB they are doing a local gig soon, then leaving for another European tour.

A little shameless self promotion. I actually forgot about this and just ran across it while searching for Egypt tracks on YT.

Between Egypt releases Chad did an album of his own. Their guitar player Neal did half the solos and I did the other half plus a few overdubs. This is the only track I can find on YT.

The first two solos are me playing an Yngwie strat copy into a Boss delay pedal, Peavey Penta, and what Chad said was a Marshall Major cab that he had on loan. I'm not sure if Marshall made a Major cab, but it was oversized and appeared to be from the 60s or 70s. The wah solo at the end is Neal.

 glad you dug it. I thought it was pretty rockin... although the last 2 songs are a bit more up tempo- it seemed to flow pretty nicely.

giving all credit to the youtube user\channel 'Stoned Meadow of Doom' -that is the hookup for some great stoner\doom imo. :rawk:

The second stage of the festival was the perfect setting for them. I was heading to the beach area and the stage is on the way there. Something special about seeing bands like that in the trees late at night.
